Where Carolyn Stands

Healthcare

Access to high-quality, affordable healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Carolyn believes New Jersey must take bold, practical steps to expand coverage, lower costs, and ensure equitable care for all residents—regardless of income, race, gender identity, or geography. This includes protecting the Affordable Care Act, reducing prescription drug prices, investing in mental health and addiction services, supporting reproductive freedom, addressing maternal health deserts like Cape May County, and ensuring fair treatment for healthcare workers. While working within today’s system, New Jersey should also explore a long-term path toward universal healthcare.

Addressing
Homelessness

Homelessness in Cape May, Cumberland, and Atlantic Counties requires a compassionate, fiscally responsible solution. A Housing First approach prioritizes stable housing as the foundation for recovery, saving taxpayer dollars by reducing reliance on emergency services, shelters, and law enforcement. By redirecting existing funds, partnering with local organizations, and focusing on measurable outcomes, Carolyn believes we can help our most vulnerable neighbors regain stability—without increasing the state budget.

Reproductive Rights

Carolyn knows New Jersey must lead in protecting reproductive freedom by ensuring not just legal rights, but real, equitable access to care. This includes fully funding the Reproductive Freedom Act, expanding insurance coverage, safeguarding patients and providers from out-of-state threats, expanding access to contraception and comprehensive sex education, and advancing reproductive justice through maternal health, education, and support services.

Standing with
our Veterans

Our veterans have made immense sacrifices to protect our freedoms, and we must honor that service. Too many face unemployment, homelessness, disabilities, and mental health challenges—including an alarming rate of suicide. Carolyn will fight for policies that support veterans with access to stable housing, quality healthcare, meaningful employment opportunities, and expanded mental health services.

Climate

South Jersey’s natural beauty is more than scenery—it’s the foundation of our economy and way of life. As your Assembly representative, Carolyn will champion practical, commonsense policies that protect our coastlines, support our farmers and fishermen, and invest in clean, reliable energy. We can grow our economy while protecting our environment by modernizing infrastructure, reducing pollution, and embracing innovation that creates local jobs. With community input at the center, she’ll ensure South Jersey remains strong, resilient, and prosperous for generations to come.

Guardrail Capitalism

Guardrail Capitalism is a balanced approach that embraces the power of free markets while ensuring no one is left behind. It recognizes that unchecked capitalism can lead to extreme inequality and calls for practical safeguards—“guardrails”—to promote fairness, opportunity, and accountability. This vision supports smart regulations that close tax loopholes, tie CEO pay to worker wages in publicly supported companies, and invest in education, job training, and affordable living. It’s not about punishing success—it’s about ensuring everyone has a fair shot at it. That’s the kind of economy worth fighting for in Trenton.

Gun
Control

We can uphold the Second Amendment while taking commonsense steps to reduce gun violence. Carolyn supports universal background checks, red flag laws, safe storage, and a ban on assault weapons—not to punish lawful gun owners, but to keep families and communities safe. New Jersey leads on this issue, and Carolyn will fight to protect that progress.

Immigrant Rights

Immigrant Communities: Strengthening South Jersey’s Future. South Jersey has always been built by hardworking families, and that story continues today with immigrants who enrich our communities and drive our economy. From the fields of Cumberland County to the restaurants of Cape May, Immigrant families are not just neighbors—they are the backbone of many small businesses, farms, and local industries. Our communities would not thrive without their contributions. Yet too often, rhetoric around immigration paints a misleading picture. The truth is that immigrants are essential to keeping our local economy strong, our small businesses running, and our families supported. Turning our backs on these contributions does not strengthen our community—it weakens it. Carolyn has taken a hands-on approach to standing with immigrant families in our region. Earlier this year, when federal immigration crackdowns created fear and uncertainty, she distributed bilingual “Know Your Rights” cards in English and Spanish so families understood their protections. She trained with El Pueblo Unidos of Atlantic City to ensure she could provide support at immigration check-ins, helping people access translators, understand their rights, and avoid mistreatment. This kind of direct engagement reflects Carolyn’s belief that policy isn’t just about what happens in Trenton—it’s about standing up for our neighbors here at home. Carolyn supports New Jersey’s Immigrant Trust Act because public safety depends on trust between communities and law enforcement. When immigrant families feel safe reporting crimes, cooperating with investigations, and working with local officers, everyone in our community benefits. Protecting immigrant rights makes our neighborhoods safer, not weaker. Immigrants are not a burden—they are builders. They help keep our farms harvesting, our restaurants thriving, and our small businesses open. Carolyn will continue to advocate for policies that respect immigrant families, uphold their dignity, and recognize their role in keeping South Jersey strong.
